Carboxymethyl cellulose Sodium Salt (CMC) or cellulose gum is a cellulose derivative with carboxymethyl groups (-CH2-COOH) bound to some of the hydroxyl groups of the glucopyranose monomers that make up the cellulose backbone.
Our is "food grade" subjected to a purification step and so it can be used for electrochemical purposes.
Mw is 90.000 and it's a white powder readly soluble in water 10mg/ml.
